5th grade students visit Camp Iduhapi in Loretto, MN while studying the history of slavery and the Underground Railroad. In preparation for the teamwork required to complete the simulation the students work with the YMCA staff in small groups. Each activity has difficult requirements and can only be completed by using good communication skills and working together. Later in the evening, after some discussion and lessons about slavery, the students take on the roles of escaping slaves.
